About Us

The Wight Strollers began life as Nesta Meech's School of Dance, and has gone from strength to strength over the years with their pantomimes, summer shows and carnival routines.

The annual pantomime is performed at Medina Theatre in February Half Term, and they aim to give as much money as possible to local charities each year.

Following on from their 30th anniversary production of 'Dick Whittington' (2010), 'Cinderella' (2011) sent them over £100,000 mark for money donated to local causes, and also saw them win the IWCP Amateur Theatre Award for Best Christmas Production.

Robin Hood and the Babes in the Wood followed in 2012, with several new members joining the ranks. Their 2013 pantomime, Sleeping Beauty, then proved to be their most popular show yet.

This year, our chosen pantomime is Robinson Crusoe, being performed on February 15, 16 and 22 at Medina Theatre, Isle of Wight.

Alongside the pantomime, the Strollers also participate in the Island carnivals, and their humorous entries have included: Flying Fokkers (2008), Young At Heart (2009), Bad Habits (2010) and Prancing on Ice (2011).

The Strollers fund and make their own costumes, build their own sets and have even taken to writing their own scripts to keep ticket prices down; so sit back, forget the recession, and enjoy pantomime at its best!
